Gordon Firemark has been involved with the entertainment industry in one way or another since his youth as a sound, lighting, and special effects technician in the live theater. He received his B.A. in Radio, Television & Film from the University of Oregon and worked for a time in the television industry, producing and directing live sports telecasts and public affairs programming. He has also produced commercial announcements, industrial videos and documentaries.

He earned his law degree at Southwestern University School of Law. Before joining the Business Affairs Group, he worked in the legal and business affairs departments at Hanna Barbera Productions and the MGM/UA Worldwide Television Group, and, for a time, was an associate of Neville L. Johnson & Associates, a Brentwood law firm specializing in entertainment litigation. In June 1993, he opened the Law Offices of Gordon P. Firemark to represent artists, writers, producers and directors in film, television, music and, theater. Additionally, his practice covers the fields of intellectual property, cyberspace and new media.

Gordon Firemark is the publisher of Entertainment Law Update, a newsletter for clients and professionals in the entertainment industries. He has served as a moderator and a featured panelist at seminars sponsored by California Lawyers for the Arts, Theatre LA, and the Oregon Artist's Rights Coalition. He is a frequent guest lecturer at Loyola Law School, California Western School of Law, and California State University, Northridge.
